A Sure Sign That Spring is Coming to Lake Geneva

The weatherman has not been kind to us so far this year with lots of snow and bitterly cold conditions earlier in the year.  But there are signs that Spring is on its way in Lake Geneva, and one sure sign is that the boats are going into Abbey Harbor at the Abbey Resort in Fontana.  I noticed on my walk this morning that a few boats have gone in this week and there will surely be more to come.

The Abbey Resort is a condo-tel offering hotel room sized condominium units for sale, as well as the adjoining Abbey Villas, which are larger two bedroom, two bath units and Abbey Ridge, the most recent phase of units built, all conveniently located near the Abbey Marina.  The Marina was condominium-ized a few years ago, offering a unique situation of actual ownership of boat slips on Lake Geneva.  There are 3 different sizes of the slips, which will accommodate some very large boats with just a height restriction for getting out of the harbor going under South Shore Drive.  There are approximately 407 slips, some of which can be purchased on resale with about half of that number available to be rented annually for the season.
