Labor Day Holiday
This weekend kicks off the Big Ten College Football season and I have the privilege of performing the National Anthem at the Northwestern University football game this Saturday. It is a great honor, especially as it occurs on this Labor Day weekend, celebrating American workers’ contributions to the growth and prosperity of our country.
Marking the unofficial end of summer, for many this weekend may be the last time to enjoy summer activities with the family before the hectic schedules of school activities kick in. As we take time celebrate this weekend, let us also take time to be thankful for the fruits of our labors, the democracy that allows us to enjoy them, and confident in the future of our nation and its workers.
