Foreclosure Update for Walworth County

For the month of October, we saw 11 foreclosed single family/condominiums sell in Walworth County. Out of the 11 foreclosures, 6 were in Delavan, while Lake Geneva, Bloomfield, Sharon, Genoa City and Elkhorn each saw one foreclosure.
Purchasing a foreclosed home is usually a good value. For an example, a home that closed October 2010 for $127,000 was assessed for $179,400 for 2009. This same home was purchased in 2000 for $146,200!
But, while looking for a “good deal” in the foreclosure market, keep in mind that it is not for every home owner. Patience is a virtue and you will need to be patient!! I just had a situation where we needed to extend the loan commitment due to an unforeseen delay.
