Victorian Christmas near Lake Geneva WI

Posted to Area Attractions & Events

With all the buzz of what is happening in Lake Geneva for Christmas activities, I would hate to overlook a wonderfully romantic evening in Sharon, WI, just a little south and west of there! This will be the 15th annual Victorian Christmas starting at 6 p.m. with a tree lighting ceremony. Stroll along the streets of Sharon with the local store owners dressed in Victorian regalia! You can have some roasted chestnuts served up from the town bum as he engages you in some infinite Bum wisdom! There are carolers, bell ringing, fresh cider, Kettle Corn, hot soups, dancers, actors and even a town crier to keep you entertained! The crème de la crème, and my favorite part of the evening is of course the Christmas parade! Make no mistake, this is no ordinary Christmas parade! As the street lights dim, and you see the glow of Horse drawn buggies lighting up the parade route, you are hooked forever on this wonderfully magical event! Each buggy is horse drawn, and lighted, by every kind of horse from ponies to Clydesdales. Each person is decked out in their finest Victorian clothes. The much anticipated moment of Santa bellowing his “Ho,Ho, Ho’s” and arriving in town will surely set you in the mood for the holidays! The restaurants open at 5 p.m., and the Victorian festivities begin sharply at 6! Mark your calendars for this coming Friday evening December 3rd. Located on Hwy 67 18 miles west of Lake Geneva.
