Day 6 of 365 Things To Do in Lake Geneva, WI: Support Our Troops Rally

Posted to 365 Things to Do in Lake Geneva, Area Attractions & Events, Delavan, Williams Bay, WI

At 11:00am every Monday morning since Nov. 29, 2004, a group of citizens from Lake Geneva and the surrounding areas have gathered at the Government Center (the old Walworth County courthouse) in Elkhorn to show support for troops with ties to Walworth County who are either currently serving and or have served in Iraq or Afghanistan. The families of these service personnel are also recognized during the rally which generally lasts no longer than an hour and finishes up with the playing of taps. This group is responsible for sending over 1,327 care packages and 7,600 Thank You cards to the troops, as well as distributing 8,800 Support Our Troops bracelets.
