Local Real Estate Market Update, Walworth County, Wisconsin
The Multiple Listing service released it Local Market Update for January 2011. I don’t think it’s any surprise that the information is a mixed bag of good news and bad news.
For buyers, the good news was lower prices than a year ago.
For sellers, the good news was that new listings and inventory were down, meaning there was less competition than a year ago, and closed sales were up dramatically over 2010. The bad news was the median price, percentage of sale price to list price received, and days on market were less favorable than a year ago.
Heading into the spring housing market, the job market, interest rates and overall consumer confidence will still be key to the health of the real estate sector.
