Southern Lakes Masterpiece Chorale, Elkhorn, Wisconsin

If you love classical music, enjoy singing, and are looking for a great way to climb out of the winter doldrums, consider joining the Southern Lakes Masterpiece Chorale. The Chorale has begun rehearsals for its 26th season, which will culminate in a performance of Felix Mendelssohn’s oratorio, Elijah on May 6, 2011, at the Elkhorn Area High School auditorium. Masterpiece Chorale draws singers from a large area of southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois and rehearses weekly, beginning in February, until the spring performance.
Conductor Richard Severing, lecturer and instructor for the University of Wisconsin and Director of Music for Cargill United Methodist Church, Janesville, leads a group of approximately eighty singers while showcasing professional soloists with a wide variety of musical experience.
