Foodies Wanted in Williams Bay, Wisconsin

Posted to 365 Things to Do in Lake Geneva, Area Attractions & Events

This past weekend I stopped in for lunch at the Green Grocer, located in Williams Bay. Oh, the minute you walk in you know this is no ordinary grocery store! You are met with a lovely table of fresh brewed coffee, simmering homemade soups, beer and wine samples, and all different kinds of tasty treats to sample! If the smells don’t pull you in for more, the selection of great foods, beverages, sandwiches, Panini’s, soups and they also serve breakfast! I went to the deli counter and couldn’t help but notice they serve Boars Head lunchmeats…Yum! You get a slip of paper to build your own sandwich; they have an assortment of breads, lunchmeats, cheeses, dressings, and condiments to go along with your sandwich. So I ordered a roast beef sandwich with provolone cheese on country French bread with pepperhouse gourmet. I also got a container of Cream of Mushroom soup, my mouth was already watering. As I waited for this divine creation I walked around the store sampling the wine and the biscotti. They also had samples of chips and salsa, which seriously I had to really practice some self-control to not eat the whole dish. They have a fabulous wine and beer selection, and some very fancy looking champagnes. They also carry Gluten- free products and organic vegatables. They have a selection of “Green” soaps both for your home and for your hair and body, along with lotions and personal needs.

The Green Grocer also does catering, dinners you can pick up on your way home from work and gourmet baskets. They are also offering a fabulous Valentines’ Day Dinner for Two, Lobster, rice, veggies, dessert and a bottle of bubbly for $49.99! You can also become a member which offers you special discounts, coupons, complimentary home delivery, e newsletters, and they also have special invitations to key speakers. I think I will leave that to another Blog. As you can imagine our sandwich was wonderful, as was the soup and I believe I have found my new favorite lunch spot, why not stop in and try it, for breakfast or lunch? This delightful store is located in The Bay Center Building in Williams Bay, right next door to Clearwater Spa and Salon. The Hours can be found here.
