Gooseberries Fresh Food Market - 15 Minutes North of Lake Geneva

Posted to

Looking for something different to do on a Saturday morning? Are you tired of grocery stores so large you need a water bottle to make it from produce to frozen foods? Grocery shopping may not be in the Guide to Lake Geneva Tourism, but Gooseberries Fresh Food Market is worth a “field trip.” It’s a treat, a truly enjoyable experience & I say this as a person who hates shopping. It’s the perfect size, with an open concept, attractive displays of fresh produce – locally grown whenever possible, natural & organic. Hand cut meats are presented by a real butcher, right behind the counter, ready to answer questions or custom cut your evening entrée. Take home gourmet deli items including a daily offering of ready to heat-&-eat main dishes & sides created from scratch by Chef Mike Lavin; your satisfaction is guaranteed with their no-risk, sample-first policy. The Gooseberry World of Cheese offers selections from around the state & around the world. Build your own salad from the Fresh Bar; add a cup of soup from the Soup Bar & a sandwich from the Sandwich Bar. The array of fine wines is extensive with a wine steward handy to make suggestions. Everyday, there is fresh seafood, fresh sushi, of course a wonderful bakery and so much more. When you first visit G.F.F.M. make sure it’s a Saturday; Sample Saturday is SO much fun. I often hear folks from the suburbs say “there just aren’t any good grocery stores” in small town America; they haven’t been to Gooseberries.

Only 15 minutes northeast of the City of Lake Geneva on Hwy. 36. For more to do while you’re here visit LakeGenevaHomeFinder.com.
