Super Bowl Sunday-Lake Geneva

Super Bowl weekend is creeping up upon us here in Lake Geneva Wisconsin. Local businesses have been promoting the Green and Gold with signs of “GO PACK GO!” and available apparel to support the Green Bay team.
Whether you are a Packers or a Steelers fan, you should be planning to travel safe this weekend when headed out to your favorite Lake Geneva area pub or Super Bowl party. Though the snow has stopped piling on the drifts, roads are still not completely safe. Here are a few tips to remember while traveling on the salty snow covered roads.
- Make sure to clear off your vehicle: this includes your license plates, head/tail lights, windows and body of car.
- Lower your speeds for the current weather conditions.
- Pay attention to your vehicle and how it reacts to snow, ice, winds and the way it stops.
- Leave extra room for breaking in between you and the car ahead.
- Watch for ice on and under overpasses/bridges.
- Having 4-wheel-drive is great but it does not mean that your vehicle is great on ICE: acknowledge that the other cars on the road may not have 4-wheel-drive and react differently to the snowy conditions.
- Look farther ahead than you normally do to allow yourself more reaction time to what is coming and make better judgments.
- Trucks are heavier than cars and thus need more time to stop.
- Last but never least: Don’t Drink and Drive!! Have a designated driver for your Sunday night activities! Also, do not be on the phone talking or texting while driving in this wintery weather; you need your full attention on the road to make it home safe.
Have a great weekend! Stay warm and drive safe! Go Pack Go!
