Walworth County's Hidden Gem!

Posted to Rentals

Located just north of Lake Geneva in the East Troy area is the beautiful Lake Beulah – an 812 acre wooded, spring-fed lake that enjoys a relatively anonymous and peaceful existence in the Kettle Moraine, tucked away from the bustle and business of the city. Many a serene summer’s day can be spent on Beulah’s shores; the clear waters make it a perfect lake for swimming, fishing, and boating, and the residential atmosphere offers quiet and relaxation.

It isn’t just by chance Lake Beulah has pure waters and a protected environment – in 1894 the residents of the area formed the Lake Beulah Protective & Improvement Association in order to ensure “general improvement and protection of Lake Beulah and the streams and waters adjacent thereto [1] The LBPIA has continued to the present day, and their website speaks to an entire community that acknowledges the intimate relationship each individual life and homestead has on the entire environment – and the great potential for help or harm when our lives are set upon a watershed, an area of land where surface water converges to a single point and joins another waterbody [2]. In this day-in-age many of us use harsh chemicals, weed killers and fertilizers in our homes and gardens without realizing that these chemicals seep into the earth and into the ground water – affecting the entire cycle of life. Residents of the Lake Beulah, Geneva lake, and surrounding lakes area are fortunate to have volunteer associations and conservancy groups, such as the Geneva Lake Environmental Agency, Geneva Lake Conservancy, Lauderdale Lakes Improvement Association among others, that dedicate their time to research, education, and the implementation of methods to protect and nurture our beautiful, natural treasures. Have extra time on your hands? Want to contribute your time to a worthwhile activity that benefits your local community? The Geneva Lake Conservancy offers many volunteer opportunities for this summer!

No doubt, Lake Beulah’s quiet presence and the LBPIA have contributed to its desirable qualities as a
wonderful destination for your family’s summer vacation. Time spent on shores of this natural sanctuary promise renewal and inspiration; a chance to enjoy sweet rest and draw creativity from the deeply-respected waters and land. When planning your next stay to the area, don’t forget about the great sparkling waters of surrounding area lakes, such as this one. Geneva Lake is not the only gem in the area!
