Become a Warrior!

Posted to Area Attractions & Events, Rentals

Ready to run, climb up cargo nets, step through hundreds of tires, wade through waist-high water and maneuver over logs? Itching to don a crazy warrior costume and navigate uncharted forests, crawl through tunnels, stumble through junk yards, and scramble through mud to claim the top prize? For the first time in Wisconsin, the Warrior Dash will be held locally in Twin Lakes! Surprise your friends and family (and maybe yourself!) and blaze a trail alone or grab a group of fellow warriors and tackle this 3.08 mile extreme race held on the Country Thunder fairgrounds, September 17 and 18, 2011.

Since 2009 this race has been held in over 35 locations all over the United States and internationally, drawing up to 25,000 participants and over 30,000 spectators per event. The dash partners with Green Sneakers – a nationwide charity organization that works to keep sneakers out of landfills. They clean and renew the shoes and help distribute them to needy feet in underprivileged areas around the world. You can run the race and then donate your “warrior” foot-gear and help fight the battle against bare feet in impoverished countries. Don’t want to run the race? Don’t worry! You can still take part in the warrior festivities as a spectator, and join in the music and revelry post-dash. But, if you do want to test yourself have your moment of jumping over fire towards the finish line, then hurry to register – final deadline is September 6, 2011.
