Day 93 of 365 Things To Do in Lake Geneva, WI: U.S. Mail Boat Tours

Posted to 365 Things to Do in Lake Geneva, Area Attractions & Events, Geneva Lake Area

Lake Geneva boasts being one of only a few places in the country where the mail is still delivered by boat. Come aboard the Walworth as it sets out from the Riviera boat docks at 10:00 a.m. daily to deliver mail to approximately 60 beautiful homes along the shores of Geneva Lake.

Make no mistake; the agile crew aboard the Walworth are not your ordinary mail carriers. They train vigorously to ensure a spot on the famous mail boat. Job requirements include speed, great balance and the ability to react quickly to unexpected obstacles. The carrier must be able to jump off the front of the boat, deliver mail to the box, pick up any out-going mail and jump on the back of the boat all while the boat continues to move along the shoreline.

Try-outs for these positions were held Thursday, June 9th. Be one of the first spectators to view the newest team as they practice Monday, June 13th and Tuesday, June 14th at 10:00 a.m. Reservations for the mail boat cruises are recommended. Regular tours are 2 ½ hours in length and cruise the entire perimeter of the lake from June 15th through September 15th.

Hi Carter: Thank you for your message and the offer. Just for the record...how much? I'm sure we could find a good cause to donate the money to...
