Day 96 of 365 Things To Do in Lake Geneva, WI: Honor the Firekeepers Pow-Wow
Experience a traditional native pow-wow this Saturday, June 18th and Sunday, June 19th at Dunn Field (Eastview School) on Sage Street in Lake Geneva. They gather to pay respect to those who have walked before them and share their traditions with others.
The two day event features drums, music and dancing along with colorful native regalia worn by the many cultures and heritages that are being represented. Check out the tee pee, listen to the drums, learn their dance steps and sing their songs. Everyone who comes is welcome to participate. The gates open at 10:00 a.m. and the grand entries will take place at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Vendors will be offering American Indian food and crafts. This is an annual event focused on family, honor and tradition. Take some time this weekend to enjoy the celebration.
