Day 55: Things to Do in Lake Geneva 365 Days a Year: Honor the Firekeepers Pow wow of Lake Geneva
Honor the Firekeepers Pow wow of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin will take place Saturday June 18th and Sunday, June 19th at Eastview School, Dunn Field – 400 Sage Street, Lake Geneva. This traditional pow wow focuses on bringing people of all nations together to learn, have fun, reconnect with old friends and grow new friendships. The Firekeepers Pow wow is a kind of family reunion and a celebration of the music, cultures, dancing, and crafts of the Native American nations. Honoring the heritage of the dancers and singers and preserving this important historical legacy is all a part of this annual Lake Geneva event.
I remember bringing our children to one of the earliest Firekeepers Pow wows in Lake Geneva and they were mesmerized. My paternal great-grandmother was Native American, and I feel honored and touched that the beautiful city of Lake Geneva is chosen year in and year out as the gathering place for this wonderful event. Family friendly, the pow wow is sure to be a hit with your little ones. Festivities run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days. Don’t miss this outstanding event!
