Ride To Work Day
Expect to see more than the average number of motorcycles, scooters and bicycles on the road in Lake Geneva, around the country and around the world this coming Monday, June 20th. Each year, the third Monday of June is recognized as Ride to Work Day, intended to highlight viable, fun and fuel-efficient modes of transportation. The RTW coordinator Andy Goldfine expects the 20t
h annual event to more than double the number of two-wheelers on the road. Studies show commuting cyclists, across equal distances, consume fewer resources per mile, take up less space on the road (not to mention parking lots) and often reach their destinations in less time than cars. For leisure non-motorized riders an option to the open road is Lake Geneva’s bike paths. On vacation and need to rent a bike? Visit Pedal & Cup at the Historic Springfield Depot, only a few miles north of the City of Lake Geneva on Highway 120. Click here for other recreation options throughout Walworth County.
