Music by the Lake, Williams Bay, Wisconsin Begins Eleventh Season
July 2, 2011 marks the beginning of the eleventh season of Music by the Lake at the George Williams College of Aurora University in Williams Bay, Wisconsin. Featuring diverse performers such as Time for Three, Tom Chapin, and KC and the Sunshine Band, the Music by the Lake series has become a favorite outdoor summer activity for young and old alike. Patrons are seated in the Ferro Pavilion (covered) or on the terrace and lawn. There, listeners can enjoy snacks and beverages brought along for the occasion.
The opening night performance, “E.T. has Close Encounters at Jurassic Park with Indiana Jones in ‘Star Wars’ (with guest appearances by Superman and Harry Potter)” will showcase conductor Arnie Roth and members of the Chicagoland Pops Orchestra. They will perform the music of Academy Award winner John Williams, who has composed the scores of these box office hits.
Future performances include “Under the Streetlamp,” featuring the original cast members of “Jersey Boys,” “Country Roads with Robert Stillman: a Tribute to John Denver” and a production of “Brigadoon,” with book and lyrics by Lerner and Loewe.
The beautiful stage setting on the shores of Geneva Lake, along with these wonderful productions, makes Music by the Lake a summer event not to be missed. For more information, click here.
