Walk & Talk & Gawk - The Lake Geneva Lake Path

Where else other than Lake Geneva, Wisconsin can you walk thru the front yards of the rich and famous? Strolling past the summer homes of the Wrigleys, the Maytags, the Schwinns and the Rockefellers take along your “Walk, Talk & Gawk” map and guide for the fascinating history of these magnificent estates. Even if you’ve walked the walk before, there’s always something new. With a finite amount of Geneva lakefront property available, every year older homes are torn down and replaced by new homes larger and more resplendent than the originals. The 21 mile lake path, 100% accessible to the public, takes you completely around Geneva Lake’s shoreline on surfaces varying from lush grass and brick to stones and dirt, so wear good shoes. The WTG guide offers seven different segments (2-3.5 miles each) for those not up for a marathon. You may feel a bit like a voyeur but most of the home owners you pass are used to the foot traffic and will waive a friendly hello. For other “things to do” in the Lake Geneva Area visit click here. The WTG guide can be purchased at The Breadloaf Bookshop and The Cornerstone Shoppe in Downtown Lake Geneva.
