Day 103 of 365 Things To Do in Lake Geneva, WI: Watson's Wild West Museum
Take a step back in time at Watson’s Wild West Museum and Dinner Theater in Elkhorn. You can pan for gold at the Tumbleweed Mine, stroll through the gift shop and enjoy the stories of a cowboy who will provide you with an entertaining perspective of the history of the Old West.
The General Store contains an extensive collection of antique tins, as well as all the staples from the era including coffee, confections, medicines, hardware, tools, oil lanterns and toys. Make sure you stop in and see the Old West Post Office and the Blacksmith Shop. The Western museum is full of artifacts from the 1800’s, including displays of saddles, spurs, chaps, holsters and firearms.
Walk through the swinging Saloon Doors and order yourself a sarsaparilla at the bar, but be prepared, they slide it down the bar just as you would have expected back in the day.
Trail End Lunch and Dinners are available and both are served while you enjoy the Wild West Show. The museum is open seven days a week and caters to individuals, bus tours, private parties and school groups. It is recommended that you call ahead for museum and show hours.
The museum is located at W4865 Potter Road in Elkhorn.
