Lake Geneva, WI Attractions – The Parks

Posted to 365 Things to Do in Lake Geneva, Area Attractions & Events

Of the many Lake Geneva, Wisconsin attractions, make sure to take the time to enjoy the parks.  Of course, the Lake Geneva Beach adjacent to the Riviera pier is the primary destination for many visitors. A long stretch of sand, a bath house with showers, and a lifeguard make this the perfect spot for enjoying the cool refreshing waters of Geneva Lake.

But don’t overlook the grassy, shaded expanse of lakefront just west of the beach known as Library Park.  The park surrounds the stunning prairie-style building designed by James Dresser, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. The lovely perennial gardens are a memorial to Ethel Braun, who served as acting president of the Wisconsin Library Association and helped plan the country library system.\

Maple Park is just north of Library Park, offering a basketball court, tennis courts, and playground.  This park anchors the historic Maple Park neighborhood, platted in 1837 for Pioneer Cemetery and the first homes in Lake Geneva. Take the time to enjoy some fine examples of Italianate, Greek and Gothic Revival, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, and Craftsman styles of architecture.

Donian Park, on the east side of town, is a four acre wetland park.  Take a leisurely stroll along the boardwalk, relax in the gazebo, and enjoy the lovely native vegetation along the banks of the White River.

These Lake Geneva parks, along with Seminary Park, Flatiron Park, and Dunn Field offer residents and visitors alike wonderful options to enjoy the great Lake Geneva outdoors.
