Things to do in Lake Geneva, WI – “Go West” to Williams Bay, WI

If you are tired of things to do in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, it might be time to “go west, young man” to Williams Bay, Wisconsin. Known as “The Bay” to the locals, this village is situated in a small bay on the north shore of Geneva Lake. With a population of about 2700, The Bay features a cozy downtown of boutiques, the Clear Waters Salon and Day Spa along with several restaurants, including The Public House and Café Calamari.
This close-knit community prides itself on its “small town” way of life, and one of the best examples will be featured this Saturday, July 16, 2011. The Williams Bay Volunteer Fire Department will host its 46th annual Chicken Roast at Edgewater Park, Williams Bay. Beginning at noon and ending around 7:00 p.m. (or when the chicken runs out) the event will feature a roasted half chicken, baked potato, cole slaw, drink and dessert for $8.00 (in advance) or $10.00 at the park. The band Neutral Zone will play under the tent from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Senator Neal Kedzie is expected to attend and help serve, as he has done in the past. Proceeds from the event, which in the past have exceeded $10,000, will be used for the fire department building and purchase of smaller equipment. The Williams Bay Fire Department also contracts is services to the towns of Linn and Geneva.
Come enjoy the fun!
