Day 69 of 365 Things to Do in Lake Geneva WI: Lake Geneva Dining? Try a Picnic Compliments of Rose's Fresh Market
Lake Geneva dining used to be a challenge, but that’s all changed now that Rose’s Fresh Market has come to Lake Geneva’s North End. After all, doesn’t everyone love an old-fashioned picnic in Library Park, located just south of the downtown Lake Geneva shopping district?

If the idea of a picnic makes you happy, you will love shopping for their picnic basket of goodies at Rose’s Fresh Market. Partners Rose and Eric have created a gem of a mini-food emporium – just big enough to stock everything you need for your weekly menus and small enough to be reminiscent of the old-fashioned neighborhood grocery store. On my first visit, my husband and I were thrilled to find Applewood cold cuts (no nitrates, antiobiotics, or bad chemicals here!), Nostrino Greek yogurt, fabulous cheeses from “Wedge Island” – their large cheese display, organic milk and butter, and fragrant bunches of fresh basil. We loaded our cart with plump, locally grown tomatoes, onions, excited about the bruschetta we would make later that day. At this Lake Geneva area attraction you’ll find shelves bursting with wholesome and minimally processed selections for the whole family.
Rose’s Fresh Market also offers a nice selection of Wisconsin beers (you can build your own six-pack) and wines. With one of the best cheese selections in the entire Walworth County area, Rose’s is the perfect party planning resource. Prices are competitive and we were surprised by how reasonable many items were – especially for a market such as this. If you love the Lake Geneva Farmer’s Market, you’ll love Rose’s – and this market won’t roll up the carpet when the weather turn cold!
