Day 149 of 365 Things To Do in Lake Geneva, WI: Valley of the Kings Sanctuary & Retreat
The Valley of the Kings Sanctuary and Retreat is a private non-profit home for retired, injured, abused and abandoned large feline, wild and domestic animals.
The facility is 90% publicly funded and relies on the donations of members, friends and volunteers so they can continue to provide shelter for an arc full of animals. The sanctuary is situated on 10 acres of farmland on Townhall Road in Sharon. They house lions, tigers, bears, leopards, cougars, horses, cows and more, providing each animal with veterinary care, nutritious meals and shelter.
The sanctuary began providing care for animals over thirty years ago, and they encourage members of the community to become “active members” of their family. Membership fees are reasonable for individuals and families. Members of the Valley of the Kings receive visiting privileges on the weekends and are encouraged to come out to the sanctuary and get to know the animals.
We’d love to have you connect with us on Facebook, check us out at Lake Geneva Property.
