Day 70 Things to Do in Lake Geneva WI 365 Days a Year: Visit the 162nd Walworth County Fair

Posted to 365 Things to Do in Lake Geneva, Area Attractions & Events, Geneva Lake Area

Today is Senior Citzens Day at the Walworth County Fair, Elkhorn Wi. All senior citizens, 65 and older, pay only $3 and all adults pay $5 – what a great deal! The Walworth County Fair runs through September 5th and is open from 7am-12am daily, except for Labor Day when it closes at 9pm. The county fair is one of the most kid-friendly things to do in the Lake Geneva Wi area and ranked high on my children’s list of summer activities. If you have little ones bring their little red wagon – makes it much easier to carry them and all their souveniers and snacks! Today’s events include the Tractor Pull in the Grandstand (7:30pm) and the final judging of “Country Idol” at 6pm at the Park Stage. Your kids will love watching the Pie Eating Contest (2:30 pm Barnyard Adventure Stage) and the Pig Races (5pm at Kiddieland). For senior crooners, “Senior Idol” takes place a 5pm at the Park Stage – a lot of oldies but goodies are sure to be heard at the Walworth County Fairgrounds tonight!

Besides a whole caboodle of fun events, the Walworth County Fair is the place for dining in the Lake Geneva area this weekend! Giant cream puffs stuffed with sweet cream, Wisconsin corn bursting with flavor, grilled brats, and of course the ever-famous church dinners. My favorite is the corn – but my 91 year old mother comes in from Florida especially for the cream puffs! If you’re in the Lake Geneva area this weekend, the Walworth County Fair is not to be missed. Come out for an hour…or come out for the day. Either way, you’ll discover that this year’s motto, “It’s a boatload of fun” rings true. For more information visit the Walworth County Fair website then grab your little red wagon, a light sweater, and a big smile and drive out to the Walworth County Fairgrounds, just minutes from downtown Lake Geneva Wisconsin.
