Farmer's Markets in the Lake Geneva Wisconsin Area

Posted to Area Attractions & Events, Geneva Lake Area

Are you looking for farmer’s markets in the Lake Geneva area? You won’t be disappointed because from downtown Lake Geneva to downtown Delavan foodies rule on Thursdays. Today, from 8 a.m.to 1 p.m., the Lake Geneva Farmer’s Market will supply the hungry folks in the downtown Lake Geneva shopping district with yummy choices ranging from fresh frozen Gulf of Texas shrimp, crab and fish to the creamiest, most delectable cheeses from the Beloit area. Mums are due to come in this week as well…and I’m not talking little, dinky mum plants…I’m talking huge, exuberant plants that will burst with color for weeks to come. The Lake Geneva Farmer’s Market takes place at historic Horticultural Hall, just three blocks north of Main Street on Broad.

The Delavan Farmer’s Market times its weekly appearance from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. – perfect for those of us who work in the mornings and afternoons. Only in its second year, the Delavan Farmer’s Market is still growing. Get fresh in Delavan and stop by this most welcome addition to the city of Delavan. The market is held in Tower Park and will continue into the Fall. Free parking is available on the street or at the community lot on Second Street and McDowell. This market is small and needs your support to grow into the kind of farmer’s market offered by the neighboring City of Lake Geneva.

Eat local, support local farmers and cottage businesses and watch as Walworth County “gets fresh.” Remember, farmer’s are a great kid-family thing to do and almost every vendor provides some kind of “teaching moment” for the little ones. Let’s raise our families to be smart consumers!
