Earth Day turns 40 today! April 22nd, 2010
Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin promoted the first Earth Day event on April 22, 1970. On that day, 40 years ago, more than 20 million Americans gathered and demonstrated for a healthy, sustainable environment.
Wisconsin has continued to do it’s part and the DNR has posted a timeline Celebrating Our Earth Day Anniversary.
