Fluffy, New, and White - the Best Sales Tool Ever for Selling Your Home!

Posted to Janis Hartley

What’s fluffy, new and white and will help you sell your home quickly and inexpensively? Give up? Fresh, new, sparkling white towels, throw rugs and bed linens!

Here are a few ways to impress buyers with the crisp, clean look of your home and do it at a relatively low cost:

  • Go to your local Target, Kohl’s, TJ Maxx or Marshall’s and pick up an armload of thick, white bath towels in 3 sizes: large (bath towels) and medium (hand not fingertip towels). You should buy at least 6 per bathroom (3 of each size). Replace your “designer” towels with these and marvel at the difference.

  • While you’re at the same store, pick up a medium, fluffy white throw rug for each bathroom. Make sure it’s not the fuzzy, old-fashioned kind. You want substance to it and it need to be a good size – no postage stamps here!

  • Grab a waffle weave, cotton shower curtain for each bathroom as well

  • Buy 4 inexpensive bed pillows (generally $4.99) for each bed (twin beds get only 2 pillows) in the house and buy crisp, white sheets with extra pillow cases. Make up the beds with these linens for all showings. Remember to turn down the comforter far enough to allow a thick edge of top sheet to peek out.

Nothing will make up for a home that’s messy and unkempt – so be certain your house is spotless and shining for all showings. Clear the clutter, and clear counters of appliances and knick knacks and…go shopping for your new bath and bed linens!
