A word to the wise...
I think all would agree that preserving the safety of police officers performing their duties is something we can all agree upon. When an officer has pulled someone over for a traffic offence it is a good idea to change to the left lane on a multi lane highway or slow down if there is no inner lane.
As I was making my daily commute from Lake Forest to the office in Lake Geneva I learned (the hard way) that it is also a State law to take these precautions. If you are stopped and ticketed for this violation the fine is up to $249 and there can be 3 demerit points against your driving record.
So when you’re on the road, don’t forget to slow down or stay to the left if you see someone pulled over. I know I will!
